Support the Library
The Library is a hub of knowledge, culture, and communication. Without your loyalty and support, this free and accessible public service simply would not survive. The ongoing support of patrons like you determines what the Library is today and what it will be in years to come.

Friends
If you love the Library and aren’t yet part of the Friends group, now is a good time to consider joining. The Friends of the Library, made up of volunteers, raise money and increase public awareness of the Library. The money raised supports important library services like summer reading programs, author events, special collections, and new technologies.
2015 Library Friend of the Year
Although Gary Munce has only been a member of the Friends for one year, he has proven to be a big asset to the organization. His ‘Get it done’ attitude and intelligent approach to finding solutions have propelled their efforts forward on a daily basis. From serving weekly as a library computer volunteer, helping with the monthly used book sales to building and installing new Little Free Libraries around town, the Friends continually benefit from his broad range of talents and generosity of time. Gary’s warm personality, electric smile and heart of gold make him a favorite amongst other Friends and the library staff. The official Friends of Libraries Handbook states that, “Friends can make the difference between a mediocre, and an outstanding library,” and Gary, along with all the other devoted Friends, help ensure that the Chelsea District Library is most definitely in the latter category.
